Iceland is like another world, a place where the Earth's crust is thin and the land is new, a country apart from anywhere else. Spectacular winter landscapes are guaranteed with steaming vents, bubbling water holes and tremendous cascading waterfalls. Experience all this and more on this short winter break, staying in the vibrant capital city, Reykjavik, with excursions out to some of the most famous sights of Iceland.
On arrival in Iceland you will be transferred to the world famous Blue Lagoon, the perfect way to relieve the stresses of travel as you relax in the thermal waters and experience the cave steam room and silica mud facials. You are free to enjoy the facilities for as long as you wish before continuing your journey into Reykjavik and on to your hotel. After settling into your room, venture out to explore the nightlife of this bustling city.
The following morning after breakfast, you will be collected by Super Jeep for an exciting tour of the Golden Circle. Visit the Rift Valley at Thingvellir before continuing on to Geysir and the dramatic Gullfoss waterfall. The highlight of the day will be a snowmobiling excursion on Iceland's second largest glacier, Langjökull.
Your final full day can be spent exploring the nation's capital. Wander the bustling streets, visit some of the numerous art galleries and museums or maybe head out on the water on a winter whale watching cruise. As darkness falls leave the city lights behind and go in search of the northern lights. Best observed in clear dark skies, your guides will do their best to seek out this amazing natural phenomenon. What an amazing end to a wonderful short break, should you be lucky enough to witness them!
