We combine two small hotels of the highest quality to allow you to enjoy famous Yala National Park for safaris in search of its famous leopards and other wildlife and then the fabulous beaches at Ahungalla from a small hotel that just opened in 2023.

Your first stop after the journey from the international airport in a swift air-conditioned minivan is the delightful Wild Coast Tented Lodge. 'Tented' but perhaps not in the way you envisage, as this is a truly luxurious tented camp with the great levels of service and cuisine. Situated on the delightful coast, of course on the beach this is the perfect compliment to a bush & beach holiday. Famous Yala National Park with its high density of leopards and other spectacular wildlife is a short drive way and you will be out on safari here for as long as you like. You might also enjoy some down time around the lodge, perhaps indulging in your own beachside pool.

You next destination is Ahungalla just south of Bentota where the fabulous Ahu Bay has just opened on a small promontory between two beaches. Set under coconut palms this is the perfect intimate destination for those looking for some exclusivity on holiday. A place to unwind. Again indulge in wonderful Sri Lankan cuisine and hospitality. The small spa will soften the body after any time in a jeep on safari and we can also arrange private whale watching trips and other activities from the hotel.

This beach and safari holiday is best chosen from November to April and can be downgraded to different lodges around Yala and hotels on the Indian Ocean coast, for example around Bentota, just ask us for quotes.

During the summer season from May to October we recommend our Sri Lanka Safari & Beach holiday itinerary to Wilpattu National Park and the east coast beaches of Trinconmalee.
