Just south of the Arctic Circle lies a secluded retreat, where a cluster of log cabins surround a communal fire pit creating a serene and idyllic respite from the hectic modern world. This eco-retreat is the inspiration of Liza and Niklas who have created a truly special place for no more than 10 guests at time.

Arctic Retreat
Small upmarket retreat of the highest order
A hidden gem in Swedish Lapland, Arctic Retreat is tucked away in the forest and nestled at the foot of Raven Rapid in the Råne River Valley.
Sitting at the edge of the river just 3 log cabins combine a traditional construction with modern architectural features. A huge north facing glass façade offers perfect views to the nature beyond and provides a cosy way to view the aurora from within. All cabins boast the same modern conveniences with en suite bathrooms, coffee machine and wood burning stoves, with an ample supply of firewood. On the wooden deck of each cabin, you will find your own private jacuzzi and just steps away in a separate log building, a wood fired sauna.
‘Sun’ is the smallest cabin which comfortably sleeps 2 people in the double-bedded loft bedroom. ‘Wind’ is slightly larger and perfect for families with it's double loft bedroom and downstairs enclave housing 2 bunk beds. ‘Water’ is a single floor cabin, perfect for two with a double bedroom. All three cabins offer enough room for extra bed if required.
Cuisine is a key feature of your Arctic Retreat experience locally sourced ingredients including fish, game, berries and mushrooms are prepared with recipes from both the Swedish and Sami cultures to create simple, healthy, yet tasty dishes. Breakfast and dinner are served in one of the two cosy timber restaurants, whilst a wilderness style lunch is often served alfresco around the fire pit. You may also choose to dine in the privacy of your own cabin.
Whether you choose to stay in summer or winter, spend your days relaxing in the peace and solitude of this unique location or explore further afield on privately guided excursions that allow you to discover the very best of Swedish Lapland, from its traditional Sami culture and culinary traditions to more modern experiences, such as snowmobile safaris or fat biking though the forests.
As each day at Arctic Retreat draws to a close spend your evenings surrounded by silence relaxing by the fire pit, spend time in the sauna, treat yourself to a classic Swedish massage or relax in the warm waters of your own private jacuzzi while you watch the northern lights dance overhead.
