Costa Rica has gained affection in the travellers consciousness for having a great combination of tropical climate, great bird watching and wildlife encounters in a country where the land is over 20% protected for nature.

A Galapagos Islands cruise is a must do in Ecuador and combines easily with discovery of the rainforest, cloudforest, and high Andes mountains.

Similarly in Peru the diversity of habitats astounds, from the coastal deserts to over the Andes and the famous site of Machu Picchu down into the Amazonian basin to the rainforest along rivers such as the Tambopata. Whilst large mammals are infrequently seen it is the habitat of primates and some impressive bird species.
